Continuing Series in the Life of a Pastoral Care Pastor

April 23, 2010 – Friday: This is my normal day off, today and Saturday. It was a beautiful morning and my alarm clock went off, as usual, at the normal time so I was up early. Today Jeanette is driving my car to work so I can get the oil changed in hers. Had an appointment for 8:15 and I took my little doggy with me so she could get in some different smells…I also met a lady who was getting her oil changed who works for Orbital. She said they are hiring and have just posted several pages of jobs. Got her contact info and invited her to church. After making a stop at the post office I headed back home so finish the preparations for the funeral message. After lunch I went to the office to get a notebook that my admin was finishing for the marriage class I am teaching this coming Sunday. Took care of a few things while waiting and then headed home. Had a nice dinner with my wife, relaxed some, watched some TV and went to bed for a nice relaxing sleep. I have been feeling a little run down lately, little sluggish so I need the rest. I am looking forward to next weekend when Jeanette and I will be taking our grandbabies to New York City to celebrate Kelsey’s 16th birthday.
